This painting series focusses explicitly on the fetish, and how this materialises in the minds of the audience. This was my first real step into this genre, and i was very interested in the psychology behind the fetish, and how common it is among the 'average' person.

Through my research into psychological theories such as freudian castration anxiety and penis envy; i have created a provocative space that calls out and exposes the audience and their gaze.

I introduced audience participation for these pieces, building on my previous project 'the face', where i questioned my position as an artist, and how much accountability i have for making an image.

So these are the results of instagram polls where my followers determined the composition - what i found out is that when given the anonymous freedom to choose - the mind will go for the most provocative option.
